For over 20 years of service to our community we know that there’s tremendous untapped talent on the south and west sides of Chicago. However do to years of economic disinvestments, overuse of the criminal justice system, and lack of skills training our community has been virtually locked out of the economy for too many years. Gordie's helps ex-felons, veterans, and young men and women to explore their talents, develop skills, get real experience, and ultimately find success for themselves and their families. Chicago is hungry for energetic skilled labor. With the right training, these young men can be the workforce of the future.
A PROCESS OF DISCOVERY

We all have basic human needs, self preservation, and a desire to provide for our families. Our community is no different, we are interested in finding our passions, developing skills, having a career, and starting a business.
Gordies Foundation's economic & workforce development program will help the men and women of our community to find that passion. Exposing our clients to corporate tours and site visits, industry guest speakers, hands-on training, resume development, and pursuing paid internships for our clients, will provide them with the foundation needed to achieve success.

Gordies is certified by the IBHE to provide skills training in the following:

HVAC
Carpentry/Constructions Services
Industrial Sewing
Maintenance Management

Additionally, Gordie's has added new training programs; Computer Networking Cyber Security, Coding, and Computer
Repair. These new programs will help our community learn and develop new high paying skills that will help transform their lives and ultimately their community.

Long term success.

Gordie's mentors and coaches work with our clients to set goals based on their individual needs and strengths, and then develop action plans to achieve them. After our clients obtain a permanent job, Gordie's coaching team continues to provide career and life coaching services to ensure they have a strong foundation.
