Exposure to STEM core skills can provide black students with unlimited earning potential and high paying career opportunities.

Hobbyist and professionals alike enjoy flying drones, but most don't understand the technology behind the drone.  Machine learning, data science and AI concepts provide drones with the capability to perform various task needed by government and corporations to provide goods and services to their citizens and consumers.

Black students in our City and across the country are often far behind or have never been exposed to essential subjects in science, advancements in technology, the possibilities of engineering, or critical concepts in math. The lack of exposure has contributed to the lack of STEM access, for Black students, as a major factor behind the substantial lack of diversity in the tech industries and high paying tech jobs.

The disparities in hiring practices for black people are rooted in very complex issues, however, it is key that more Black students gain the access to STEM careers and classes that could lead them to extremely profitable, successful careers.

Gordie's STEM program will provide the exposure that Black students need to get the foundation in such careers that could set them up for success in the future.

To encourage our students to pursue professional careers in STEM; our  program also exposes them to seminars given by industry thought leaders, university faculty and experts, and tours of tech companies and STEM related laboratories.
